Tinnitus is a royal pain, I speak from 20 years of experience. It is possible that the imitrex is the cause of your condition but at this point that is irrelevant. Your tinnitus isn't likely to go away. The best that you can hope for is to develop a coping strategy that will make the condition more livable. For me white noise such as fans or traffic just makes the problem worse. I have found that quiet or soft music are the best things to reduce the tinnitus. I would suggest that you try experimenting with things like ear plugs to see if they help.
