i have had problems with my ears my whole life. i hear a ringing in my ears from time to time. usually after loud noises but not right after the noise. it rings for a while ringing humm kinda. you know almost a whistling. the worst was after the noise level and frequency test the ear doctor use to give to me. i remember hearing things all day after that almost. sounds like aliens are trying to communicate with me ..lol it always goes away.(yes sometimes the ringing stops suddenly) i wear cotton in my ears when it is going to be loud or getting loud or notice my ears are getting sensitive. also i wear it when they have been sensisitive. it helps them recover faster and helps them from not being so sensitive to all the nose so much.
It will eventually go away if you reduce your exposure to areas with high noise (including heavy Rock music , etc).
Have your hearing checked to find out if your exposure has reduced your hearing range and to what DB level.
It can depend on why you got the tinnitus. There are such a huge number of reasons you can get it that it would be hard to answer, and many of hte answers would be opposite of each other. Taking asperin can be the cause and the cure for some people. Decreasing noise levels can help some while increasing it helps others (Im one with an auditory deprivation cause so increasing it worked for me).
