Ok..heres what I do....I use my finger to close the little flap (on the outisde of my ear) and hold it closed for about 30 seconds it makes the tinnitus go away and not come back for several days.
Tinnitus can't be cured...but sometimes taking Entex (decongestent prescription) will work...also Benadryl works...
(Claratin allergy too). Also some ENT's will 'retrain' your hearing with white noise hearing aids. (mine said it doesn't work...)

Theres a web site that deals with people who have tinnitus..
you'll have to google for it, I've forgotten the address..

The coming and going might indicate something more. I have a noise like tree frogs, constantly. You learn to accept it.

May be u have high blood pressure. The cure i found working for me is, Gingko Biloba 2 pills a day, Vastarel 2 pills a day, Stugeron half a pill of 25mg at bedtime and vitamin B complex. Also must avoid salt and sugar. Aslo stress is a killer and i have noticed for myself that is a cause of tinnitus because is causes your blood vessels in your brain to constrict. Must take rest and sleep properly.

I wish there was a cure. But no.

Holding the inner flap of my ear didn't work Kathy A.

This is the American Tinnitus Association. I should look for the international one too, for those not living in America.
